Félix M. Lavoie

Félix M. Lavoie is a Canadian environmental economist with specialization in the fields of environmental, energy, and resource economics. His work aims to foster sustainability, efficiency and resilience of bio-economic systems by improving our understanding of the spatial interdependence between firms and their environment.

His doctoral research concentrates on salmon aquaculture in Norway. The thesis examines the spatial organization of the industry and how consolidation of ownership at the regional scale affects the behavior of firms in controlling the spread of parasites.

For the last decade, he has studied closely the Scandinavian and Nordic models of natural resource management.
